Jordan Richardson is an associate at Heise Suarez Melville.

Prior to joining the firm, Jordan served in various positions in the federal government, including at the White House Domestic Policy Council as a Special Assistant to the President, and as a policy advisor in the Office of American Innovation. During his tenure, Jordan helped oversee policy development at the U.S. Department of Justice and drafted multiple executive orders. In addition, Jordan coordinated the review of clemency applications with the Office of White House Counsel and the Department of Justice.

Before his work on the Domestic Policy Council, Jordan served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of Labor where he provided policy guidance to the Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training on how to increase employment for displaced workers, returning citizens, and people affected by the opioid epidemic.

Prior to his work in the federal government, Jordan advised several non-profit organizations in the Washington, D.C. area and regularly delivered testimony and legal briefings to state legislatures on the subjects of civil asset forfeiture, occupational licensing, and sentencing.

For his leadership in these roles, Jordan was named to Forbes 30-Under-30 in Law & Policy in 2018.

Following his time in federal service in Washington, D.C., and before joining Heise Suarez Melville, Jordan completed a two-year federal clerkship with the Hon. Aileen M. Cannon of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

In 2023, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Jordan to serve as a commissioner on the Judicial Nominating Commission of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County. In this role, he assesses and interviews candidates for county and circuit court openings. Together with fellow commissioners, he provides a list of recommended candidates for the Governor’s consideration.

Jordan earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Marshall University and his J.D. from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law.
