David is an associate at Heise Suarez Melville who draws on his technical background and legal experience to advise clients on navigating complex commercial disputes, including intellectual property disputes involving patents, trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, and trade secrets.

David started his legal career at large national and international law firms, where he gained extensive experience handling patent and trademark matters across various industries including automotive, medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer product, fintech, and LLM/AI. Before attending law school, David worked as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where he gained significant insight into the agency’s inner workings.

David is a Miami native and fluent in Spanish. Outside of the office, David enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing guitar.
