Jonathan litigates complex, highly charged disputes in federal and state courts for family offices and hedge funds, private equity and venture capital funds, as well as founders, real estate developers and prominent individuals and their families. He is also often called upon to do so for athletes and entertainers.

Significant matters include:

• Obtained an injunction in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida declaring Broward County’s pandemic curfew unconstitutional, which order precipitated the commercial re-opening of the State of Florida.
• Successfully represented the founders of Trump Media & Technology Group Corp., who developed the “Truth Social” application, ensuring receipt of their founder shares. This representation included assembling a national litigation team to prosecute and defend claims in state and federal courts in Delaware and Florida.
• Overturned 70 years of Miami Beach “Floor Area Ratio” law to make way for a first-of-its-kind skyscraper on the interior of the city.
• Obtained a pardon from the President of the United States for Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. a/k/a Lil Wayne.
• Obtained a commutation of sentence from the President of the United States for Bill K. Kapri a/k/a Kodak Black.
• Vacated a $2.5 million judgment entered in a civil case against Aubrey Graham a/k/a Drake.
• Quashed two successive subpoenas issued to Aubrey Graham a/k/a Drake by an individual on trial for the murder of Jahseh Onfroy a/k/a XXXTentacion.
• Defended Jacques Bermon Webster II a/k/a “Travis Scott” in a criminal case arising from his arrest in Miami Beach and secured an in-the-moment dismissal in open court by the State Attorney.
• Defeated a Motion for Punitive Damages brought against Lontrell Denell Williams Jr. a/k/a Pooh Shiesty by an individual alleging that he was shot by Pooh Shiesty.
• Represented a first-round NBA draft pick relative to sexual battery allegations amidst ongoing 8-figure contract negotiations.
• Secured a temporary injunction for a content creator alleged to have been raped at gun-point in the shower over the course of many hours.
• Obtained an $8.3 million judgment following a jury trial for a New York-based hedge fund, including wrongful act doctrine damages for fees spent in the United States Bankruptcy Court, where the defendants named in the case included borrowers, competing lenders asserting priority claims, and other commercial tortfeasors.
• Sued the United States Bureau of Prisons and the Warden of USP Big Sandy in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of Bill K. Kapri a/k/a Kodak Black based upon allegations that Kodak was being tortured in prison.
• Represented Prakazrel “Pras” Michel in connection with allegedly defamatory statements made by Kyrie Irving and 50 Cent regarding testimony Michel gave at his federal criminal trial.
• Represented former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale in a Second Amendment matter challenging the Risk Protection Order issued against him following a petition by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
• Represented a former sergeant of the Miami Beach Police Department in a criminal case brought against him by the State Attorney alleging police brutality and secured a plea deal entirely avoiding any jail time and allowing him to keep his law enforcement and military pensions.
• Brought claims against, inter alia, Lucy Guo and Passes, Inc., on behalf of Alice Rosenblum for the alleged receipt, distribution and possession of child pornography in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 2252 and 2252A and § 847.012, Fla. Stat.
• Brought claims against Braden Peters a/k/a Clavicular on behalf of Aleksandra Mendoza for, inter alia, alleged sexual battery of an intoxicated minor.

The common thread amongst Jonathan’s clients is that they are looking for, and in need of, a creative and fresh approach to their problems. It is in his nature to become obsessively fixated on achieving his clients’ goals as if they are his own.
